Why studying at UFRO?

Located in La Araucanía Region in Chile, La Frontera University (UFRO) is a public state institution of higher education. UFRO is considered one of the best universities in the country due to its remarkable indicators of quality and excellence.

Today, the University offers 45 undergraduate degrees, 10 PhD programs, 28 Master’s programs, 35 specialty programs in the fields of medicine, dentistry, nursing, midwifery, computer science and medical physics. It hosts more than 9,500 undergraduate students and about 1,000 graduate students. During its 37 years of institutional life, it has trained more than 33,000 graduates and postgraduates, thanks to the commitment of an academic and administrative community, engaged to the continuous improvement of teaching, research, building social bonds and management.

La Frontera University is the most promising university in La Araucanía Region, a position it recently consolidated by becoming the first regional state university to obtain institutional accreditation for 6 years under CNA Chile, a status that places it among Chile’s universities of excellence. Moreover, it has the biggest language center of the south of Chile, giving the opportunity to both local and international students to learn English, Chinese, French, Italian, German and Spanish with a blended-learning experience.

Spanish Program

Our Online Spanish courses are specially designed for international students who want to learn both language and culture. We have courses and content that will allow you to improve your Spanish and also to get to know and experience the Latin American and Chilean culture, as well as our own La Araucanía culture.

Length Each level has 32 hours of classes for 8 weeks

You can enroll in one of our two courses: A1 or B1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

A1: Classes will be held on Monday and Wednesday, from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM. Chilean Time Zone (GMT-4)

B1: Classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM. Chilean Time Zone (GMT-4)

This online curricular activity will develop a methodology focused on the student and strongly supported by technological resources that privilege communication and active interaction among peers, collaborative work and learning through practical application mediated by the teacher. In this way, the teacher will expose students to texts and oral productions of increasing complexity depending on the level and related to the context of the student.
